HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE
KENNETH THOMPSON

Co-creator of UNIX
Bio:
Unix was developed at Bell Labs in the 1970s to meet the growing demand for decentralized computing systems and the emerging network computers. The end of the mainframe era or “big iron” systems was near and Thompson along with Dennis Ritchie solved the problem of how to operate these new “mini-computers” with an efficient and elegant operating system.
