NeXT Color Computer
From the Museum Collection

It was a shock to many people when Apple co-founder Stephen Jobs was forced out of the company he had turned into an American legend. But Jobs, true to form, landed on his feet, founding NeXT Computing and introducing the NeXT Cube.

At a Lisa-like $10,000 each, the NeXT was never really a home computer, yet it's Unix-based operating system was one of the first to offer real-time multi-tasking on a PC-like box (the NeXT used the Motorola 68030 CPU, later used in the Mac II, Amiga 3000 and Atari TT and Falcon personal computers).
