Atari 1040ST Atari 1040ST with external hard drive

From the Museum Collection

Within a year of the release of the Apple Macintosh, both Atari and Commodore had released 16-bit computers featuring Mac-like graphical interfaces as well.

The Commodore Amiga and the Atari ST computers each used the same Motorola 8 MHz 68000 CPU as the Mac. The Amiga and the Atari were also substantially less expensive than the Mac, and both quickly built large and loyal followings.
